This talk is meant to be a short example of how data analysis can help make better decisions for the city of Charlottesville. It aims to visualize the data from the canceled Downtown mall parking meter pilot study by shwoing meter revenue and usage patterns. The was significant community push back against the meters, with business owners fearing the meters would hurt their bottom lines. But the data tells a different story of steady usage across the study even with the expected spikes in activity around lunch, dinner and on the weekends.
